Henry Cejudo is convinced that Oscar De La Hoya can beat Conor McGregor in 1 minute should the paid enter the squared circle. De La Hoya, better known as “The Golden Boy” recently confirmed that he will return to the ring for the first time in 13 years for an exhibition match against Vitor Belfort in July 2021.
McGregor on the other hand, known to his fans as “The Notorious” once held two UFC world titles at the same time however, his career has taken a nosedive in recent years. He has failed to rediscover the form that made him one of the feared fighters in the mid-2010s. Despite earning a huge amount of money, he has lost his last few fights to Dustin Poirier, Khabib Nurmagomedov, and Floyd Mayweather Jr.
McGregor’s fights with Mayweather inspired the likes of Mike Tyson and several influencers to step in the ring and fight for big money. Cejudo who retired in 2020 and is a regular contributor on Mike Tyson’s Hotboxin’ podcast, the former two-weight world champion said De La Hoya would make light work of McGregor.
Also on the podcast, Mike Tyson admitted that McGregor is his neighbor as the pair both live in Newport, California and Henry Cejudo went on to say it would take less than a minute for De La Hoya to win. He said “Oscar would put him away, “he’s a killer, and he’s not a Mayweather”. He continued by saying “He’s (De La Hoya) not a defensive guy. If he were to fight Conor in boxing, he wouldn’t last a minute, I swear to you. Left hook, jab.”
