Manny Pacquiao and Errol Spence Jr face each other in Las Vegas, Nevada on August 21, 2021. Even though rising boxing star Errol Spence Jr is just over a decade younger than boxing legend Manny Pacquiao, fellow legend Oscar De la Hoya has warned the young fighter to expect a tough fight for the welterweight title.
Speaking with ES news, De La Hoya, who won titles in 6 different weight classes, warned of Pacquiao’s mannerisms before delivering a flurry of devastating punches to his opponents. He said “I love that fight, it’s a great matchup and I think Spence is a great fighter,” said De La Hoya. “As great as he is, I think Spence has to be careful.”
Oscar De La Hoya knows well the threat that Pacquiao poses having faced him in his last professional fight. He continued saying “I don’t know why anybody hasn’t caught on to that, he does this and he throws and he has those fat calves. Spence has to be careful of that,”.
Despite saying this, he stopped short when it comes to who he thinks will win this highly anticipated fight on August 21. Former UFC champion Henry Cejudo on the other hand predicted who he thinks will win when Manny Pacquiao and Errol Spence Jr step into the squared circle. He believes it is Pacquiao who will have his hand raised at the end of the night and emerge victorious by saying “I think Manny’s gonna beat him,”.
